昔ながらの対面販売で、新鮮で安心な商品を明治時代から提供し続けてきた札幌市中央区にある円山市場。平成22年3月末で閉鎖します。
「なぜ市場は閉鎖するのか」、「市場とはどのような場だったのか」について、働く人や市場を訪れるお客さんのインタビューを通し考えるプロジェクトです。
最後の年末の賑わいを経て市場との別れが近づく中で、札幌市立大学デザイン学部メディアデザインコースによるメディアアート展覧会「Hanami-Picnic of Art-」が開かれました。お店とお客さん、お客さん同士といった「人と人とのふれあい」のある円山市場。消えゆく市場でのふれあいの様子を納めたドキュメンタリーです。
